Delete your Maru account
In the app (instant)
- Open Maru and tap the ☰ menu in the top-right corner to open SETTINGS.
- Tap PRIVACY.
- Tap DELETE ACCOUNT, then DELETE to confirm.
Your account is deleted from our servers straight away, and the game goes back to how it was the first time you opened it. You need an internet connection for this. If you only ever played offline, there is no account on our servers to delete.
If you no longer have the app
Your account is tied to the phone it was made on, so if you have uninstalled Maru or changed phones, email hobosblock@gmail.com with the subject “Delete my Maru account” and the name you played under. Accounts have no password, so we may ask you something only the owner would know, such as roughly what your best score was or when you last played. We will delete the account within 30 days and email you when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your account: the name, and the account code your phone used to sign in.
- Your best score. You disappear from the SCOREBOARD.
- Your competition entries, and the email address and age declaration you gave when you opted in.
What is kept
- If you won a prize, the winner's record (name, email, score and prize) is kept for 3 years after that competition, as the competition rules require. It is then deleted.
- Server logs, which can include your IP address, are deleted within 30 days.
- Scores saved on your phone stay there until you uninstall the app.
